Past Simple "To Be"





EXAMPLE

  • I was late yesterday in the company.
  • I was not late yesterday in the company.
  • Was I late yesterday  in the company?

  • SHORT ANSWER

  •  Yes, I was
  •  No, I wasn't

  • QUESTION

  • Why  was I late yesterday in the company?
  • Because, It was many jobs.

Example QUESTION 


Who did they want to see?
What  time did you break?
How much did she pay?
Why didn't he like the movie?
What did you have for dinner?
what  time did the meeting finish?
What  kind of pie did you eat?
 When did you buy shares?
Who did they write to?
Why didn't you save the money?

 The verb 'be', which becomes 'was' or 'were'
